If you can, put your political persuasions aside for a moment, and take a look at what President Obama had to say regarding energy development and use in the United States, during his State of the Union address.

While covering a series of topics on energy he addressed efficiency of energy use, and how that can effect companies directly and the country as a whole.

The President said, “Of course, the easiest way to save money is to waste less energy.  So here’s a proposal:  Help manufacturers eliminate energy waste in their factories and give businesses incentives to upgrade their buildings.  Their energy bills will be $100 billion lower over the next decade, and America will have less pollution, more manufacturing, more jobs for construction workers who need them.  Send me a bill that creates these jobs.  (Applause.)  ”

While he is focused in this quote on manufacturers and creating jobs through the development and construction of more energy efficient buildings, the base idea is clear.  Using energy more efficiently means saving money.  Saving money means that the company can then reinvest more in hiring new employees.  Getting people employed means that more  people can spend more money, and ultimately, the economy begins a more prominent swing toward recovery.

At least, that’s the idea on paper.  It would appear that the President is trying hard to show us the big picture.  Being smart with how we use energy; energy like diesel fuel, can only have positive consequences. And those consequences can be far reaching.

Think of the effect you could have as a fleet manager, if you take the time and effort to train your drivers to be more efficient behind the wheel.  To Ecodrive.

Think of the scope of positive consequence that you could initiate if you trained your drivers in the theory and practice of Ecodriving, and they in turn, saved your fleet 7% in fuel use.

You run a mid to large size fleet that uses somewhere around 3 million gallons of diesel a year?  At $4 a gallon, you could be saving $840,000 a year.

Think of how your company could expand the next year.

Think of what could happen if every company that has a fleet the size of yours did the same thing.

At Ecodriving Solutions we build whole programs to help you achieve those fuel saving goals, and ultimately to help your company grow.

Ecodriving – it works.
