The Houston Independent School District has entered into an agreement with Ecodriving Solutions to provide Ecodriving  training for some 1,000 of their fleet bus drivers.

EDS is obviously thrilled at the opportunity and it is further proof that the idea of Ecodriving and the benefits that it affords those that get involved in it, namely fuel mileage increases, carbon footprint reductions and safer fleet driving records, is beginning to take root across the United States.

The Houston Independent School District is hardly a newcomer to the idea of running a responsible fleet. In fact, they long been a proponent of keeping their transportation fleet in the “green.”

School Transportation News reports that Government Fleet Magazine named the Houston ISD fleet  as one of the top 40 “green” fleets in the U.S. for two years running. They were also recognized as one of the top 100 Best Fleets of North America for 2011, and were the only school district to have that claim.

Pretty impressive accolades.

Clearly, the Houston ISD is serious about being “green” and the fact that they have chosen Ecodriving Solutions to help them extend their “green” benefits to include fleet fuel savings and even safer drivers, is something we are proud to announce.

Ecodriving – it works.
